The Ultimate app for discovering and identifying the trees of South Africa.

TheTreeApp SA is a sophisticated tool for smart phones and tablets to identify
indigenous and invasive, alien South African trees.

The Second Edition is a two-in-one app that contains both the Original version
(simple English terms) and the Botanical version (classical Botanical terms).
Therefore, you only pay for one subscription per year but you receive both
versions of the app. Users can switch between versions on the app home screen.
The language differences apply to the search, text, and captions. Both versions
include all South African trees, and all species’ artwork, photographs, and maps.

If you are a currently registered, paid-up subscription user you will automatically
be entitled to the upgrade for the Second Edition for no extra payment. This is
automatic on some devices. Other users will already know from previous
upgrades how to do this using the App store.

If you are a new user, you can now download and test the free Evaluation version
of TheTreeApp SA, covering a limited number of trees (155). To load all 1 399
trees, you must upgrade to a yearly subscription of R179,99.

Once loaded using WiFi, no internet is needed; but satellite coverage improves
the map and Location search experience.

In the full subscription version, you can choose your location to reduce the Tree
List from 1399 species to the actual number that grow there naturally.

In both versions you can follow the easy, step-by-step Tree Search process, and
match characteristics of your tree to those on the app. Select the relevant tick-
boxes and watch as the number in the Tree List reduce! Tree details are in
artworks, photographs, maps, and texts.

The powerful, rapid, and highly intuitive random Search function provides the
user with much more than just a keyword search and makes it possible to
discover and learn to love South African trees.

It has an inbuilt education system; based on clicking InfoHotSpots, for
explanations about anything that is not clear. Icons and texts cover virtually every
aspect of the Apps functions.

In Settings on the home screen, you can select your primary and secondary
language choices from Scientific, English, or Afrikaans. In the Tree List you can
search for a species by name, using any of the 11 South African languages.

In addition, the Sightings function allows you to add and list the names of your
own personal tree discoveries. You can type in notes and record GPS locations.

A glossary gives access to botanical words from/used in the Botanical app and in
other more complex publications.
